The renovation project is a prototype for cost-effective multi-sensory facilities aimed at promoting an inclusive education. It accommodates the learning needs of visually impaired students—to equip them with fundamental skills for future livelihoods. As they have varying degrees of visual conditions and abilities, the facility needs to be stimulating for their sensory system.
The school building is a typical reinforced concrete structure with standard square rooms finished in plaster and paint. Designed in line with Pre-Braille Curricula, the previously ailing library and adjoining balcony were transformed into a new multi-sensory facility for young children. Its location is adjacent to the circulation route so that it is easily accessible.
