Tampines Plaza 1 & 2 Asset Enhancement

The project sought to enhance the common areas of two existing commercial towers with sleeker, lighter and more contemporary aesthetics. It called for the appropriate application of stylistic design and material selection to address concerns of the commercial viability and outlook of the overall development, as well as subsequent maintenance and wear and tear.

DESIGN & MATERIAL CONSIDERATIONS
The work scope included lift lobbies, reception counters, a central courtyard and basement drop-off. As the direct access to the buildings, both lobbies were designed identically. The reception counters’ centrepiece is a 6.4-metre-long solid veined black marble slab cut finished in a high-grade satin finish black stainless steel.

With maximised natural lighting and minimalist-looking wall tiles paired with slab-cut Tundra Grey marble, portions of the lift lobbies were also cladded in white full-height wall tiles. Ceiling amenities, such as fire protection, lighting, air-conditioning and mechanical ventilation system, are cleanly integrated into the interior design.
