This project aims to create a new cemetery concept through a decompose and recompose method, where the ashes of the departed will be turned into soil in about 30 days and utilised in plant cultivation. It is a non-religious project that leans towards the principle of sustainability.
THE GARDEN OF REBIRTH
The procession starts at the entrance where mourners gather to reminisce the memories of the departed. After that, they will walk through a path surrounded with bamboo trees to the service area where the funeral ceremony takes place. After 30 days, the bodily remains will be collected and transferred to the soil collection point. This is then used to cultivate a tree in the garden of ‘rebirth’.
