Construction firm Vertice Bhd’s wholly owned subsidiary, Vertice Construction Sdn Bhd, has won a RM100 million subcontract to supply labour and equipment for the precast viaduct (U-trough girder) of the Light Rail Transit Line 3 (LRT3).
In a filing with Bursa Malaysia, Vertice said the sub-contract was offered by Reaplite Industry Sdn Bhd, the main contractor for the LRT3 precast viaduct (u-trough firder), for the section between Bandar Utama in Petaling Jaya and Johan Setia in Klang via Shah Alam.
The two-year construction period will start from 6 March 2019 to 5 March 2021, as reported by The Star.
“The sub-contract is expected to contribute positively to the group’s earnings and net tangible assets for the period of the sub-contract,” the company said.
Work on LRT3 slowed down in October 2018, following a review of the project by the Pakatan Harapan government. On January 25, main contractor MRCB George Kent Sdn Bhd signed a new fixed-price contract with Prasarana Malaysia Bhd for the project, which has been scaled down to RM16.6 billion, from its earlier cost of RM31.45 billion. — Construction+ Online
