This residential complex comprises 64 villa-style townhouses on a 2.86-acre site in Seri Kembangan, Selangor.
With the rising elderly population in the area, the development’s concept was to offer homes that can accommodate three-generational families and promote family values and bonding.
COMMUNITY COURTYARD
At the core of the development is the central courtyard with leisure facilities, designed to help generate a sense of community, not just within the family but also among neighbours.
The courtyard podium, which sits atop a one-level car park, is inspired by the traditional Chinese courtyard house—where activities are carried out in the open for more neighbourhood vibrancy, while maintaining the privacy within the building’s compounds.
The 16 four-storey residential blocks are arranged around the podium with the central garden as the focal point. Residents can enjoy a visual connection with the space below or retreat into their own sanctuary.
The courtyard itself is broken down into several ‘pocket spaces’, with mini golf, Tai Chi park, gazebos, Koi pond, reflexology park and jogging path, among others.
MODERN TROPICAL
The architecture features monolithic, bold frames wrapping each block, providing covering over the rooftop garden and sunshading for the residences. The slanting mono-pitched profile accentuates the integration of the tropical climate design of tropical architecture.
The villa blocks are designed with fenestration gaps for cross ventilation. The private gardens of the lower villas are seamlessly connected to the outdoor living spaces, encouraging interaction among the community.
The earth-tone colour scheme and the use of timber pull the natural environment into the homes. Full-height windows allow natural daylight and ventilation into the living spaces.
Lush landscaped boulevards and roof gardens create a modern tropical oasis.
Each villa is allocated four carparks; the parking spaces are surrounded by a private lift lobby that connects directly to the podium and living unit floor. The facilities and event spaces are designed to be both disabled- and elderly-friendly. — Construction+ Online
