SkyWorld Development Group (SkyWorld) celebrated two milestones on 24 October 2016: a topping off ceremony that marked the early completion of Ascenda Residence and the announcement of a new infrastructure expansion plan.
Ascenda Residence (Phase 1 of SkyArena integrated city development) was launched in 2014, offering 650 units of residences with built-up areas ranging from 903 to 1,470 square feet. To date, it has recorded a 95 percent take-up and will be completed three months ahead of schedule. The 28-acre SkyArena integrated city development aims to create an exciting lifestyle for its residents. It has a 9.4-acre multi-facility SkyArena Sports Complex in the blueprint, which has a hostel, as well as state-of-the-art sport facilities that include an Olympic-size swimming pool, 15-foot diving pool, eight-lane running track (400 metres), 10,000-square-foot fitness centre, international tennis courts, squash courts and rock climbing facilities.
SkyWorld and Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL) also announced a major infrastructure upgrade to and from the SkyArena development and Setapak areas. The new infrastructure expansion plan includes the addition of a new 1-kilometre flyover from Jalan Genting Klang to Jalan Ayer Jerneh and the 100-foot road widening initiatives along Jalan Ayer Jerneh. This can help to improve traffic flow and provide the Setapak community with easier access to the DUKE highway.
YB Dato’ Ahmad Fauzi Bin Zahari, Setiawangsa Member of Parliament; YBhg Datuk Hj Mohd Najib, Executive Director (Planning), DBKL; Datuk Ng Thien Phing, Founder & Group Managing Director of SkyWorld; and Lam Soo Keong, Deputy Group Managing Director of SkyWorld, officiated the topping off ceremony. Lee Chee Seng, Chief Operating Officer of SkyWorld; and Siew Chee Seng, Chief Financial Officer of SkyWorld, were also present to witness the ceremony.
