Optimising a compact site near the heart of the city, the design of this high-rise structure features a façade of vivid colours and open spaces positioned on higher floors for visual appeal.
KEY FEATURES
The building envelope is accentuated by metallic fins made of powder-coated aluminium composites with a brown finish, arranged in a cascading, diamond-like motif. Aluminium, known for its durability and easy maintenance, also formed other exterior components such as box louvres, perforated mesh and cut-out screens.
A module carved out of level 47 houses a 31.45-metre rimless swimming pool, offering views. Mosaic tiles in shades of black and blue decorate the basin flooring in a pattern that mirrors the diamond-like motif of the façade—enhancing the sense of indoor-outdoor space continuity. Meanwhile, the lower-fold spillway is accented by red mosaic tiles, a hue inspired by the project’s name, enriching the colour palette. The application of soft, linear lighting reflects off the tiles, contributing to the overall ambience.
Additionally, the pool lounge features exposed aggregate granite chippings for the pool deck, along with climbing plants and geometric elements to produce a textural contrast.
The lawn on level eight was landscaped to create a sunken effect, characterised by:
- semi-circular stepping stones made of pebble wash;
- an elliptical, organic-shaped pavilion made of polystyrene fibreglass;
- pearl grass (Axonopus compressus – dwarf);
- trees planted along the parapet walls for shade and thermal comfort; and
- nighttime lighting.
The choice of native plants ensures adaptation to the local climate with minimal maintenance. The lawn is open to the sky and provides a landscaped view towards the street.
Given the tight site and narrow access roads, the construction sequence was planned ahead of time through coordination among all parties. This approach facilitated the transport of materials and the installation of related components, resulting in an enhanced workflow. —Construction+ Online
