Business performances are expected to be slower in the fourth quarter of 2019. Overall, the confidence indicator has declined to -0.05 per cent as compared to the 3.1 per cent in the previous quarter.
All sectors, except the Services sector, recorded a negative confidence indicator in the fourth quarter of 2019, with the Construction sector having the lowest score. It recorded a negative confidence indicator of -8.1 per cent, the highest recorded since the third quarter of 2018 (-7.7 per cent).

Expectation of business performance in October 2019 – March 2020
Business performance is forecasted to expand slower from October 2019 to March 2020, with an overall net balance of 6.4 per cent as compared to 18.2 per cent recorded in the previous survey.
The Industry and Services sectors are expected to be positive with a net balance of 6.1 per cent and 14.1 per cent respectively. On the other hand, the Construction sector will be expecting a decrease of -9.1 per cent in business performance.
