Having to work with a client whose sense of style resonates with one’s creative direction is a dream come true for most designers—as was the case with this interior design project. A key overtone that came to mind for both parties was cosy—and that was the foundation upon which the visual and tactile expressions as well as mental comfort of the interiors was built. The result has proved to be one that is close to what dreams are made of.
The ambience brings about an overall feeling of lightness— light to touch, lightly lit. The owners had high requirements on the choice of materials, which included soft, delicate furniture and textile, in order to maintain an elevated state of emotional and mental comfort during periods of rest. Gentle lighting prevails—the illumination was cleverly installed, for example behind a display cabinet, and at times hidden—to continue the dreamy narrative.
While the living area was designed to be light, the kitchen was created in darker tones for contrast.
