Kuala Lumpur, 25 September 2020 – The Royal Institution of Surveyors Malaysia (RISM) will be hosting the 30th Pan Pacific Congress (PPC) of Real Estate Appraisers, Valuers and Counsellors. RISM will organise the PPC for a third time, the first two being the 12th PPC in 1983 and the 21st PPC in 2002.
The 30th PPC, originally planned to span from 4 – 7 October 2020, is now deferred to 29 – 31 March 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The venue remains at the Berjaya Times Square Hotel, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The theme will be digital disruption, digital economy and real estate industry.
The first PPC was held in Sydney, Australia, in 1959, to develop a closer relationship with the various appraisal or valuation institutes and to provide a forum for members of allied professional bodies to share and exchange information.
PPC is primarily an educational refresher in nature, organised and presented by the professional appraisal or equivalent bodies of member countries every two years.
Meanwhile, RISM’s aim is to set and continuously improve the standard of surveyors’ professional practice and ethics; to promote the welfare, educational and professional development of its members; and to provide quality, value-added and comprehensive services to its members and the public alike.
Hosting PPC for the third time is part of RISM’s effort to realise its vision that to become a world-class professional institution and a centre of excellence in surveying and related services.
