Kuala Lumpur, 31 August 2020 – At the annual general meeting of Real Estate and Housing Developers Association (REHDA) Federal Territory of Kuala Lumpur, a new line-up of branch committee members for the new term 2020/2022 was duly elected.
Chan Kin Meng, the CEO of Benéton, a privately-owned company developing residential and commercial properties in Malaysia and overseas, now serves as the new chairman.
Chan Kin Meng said, “As part of our commitment to further enhance the delivery service system and promote business-friendly practices, REHDA Federal Territory of Kuala Lumpur aims to continue our close partnership and engagements with the relevant ministries, government agencies, built environment industry partners and media partners. We seek to address and resolve industry issues and concerns faced by REHDA members towards transforming the federal territories and Malaysia to become a world-class sustainable and liveable nation.”
Established in 1970, REHDA today has become a well-recognised entity with over 1,500 members across Malaysia. Its members and partnership have contributed to progress and growth of the construction industry in Malaysia.
Being the sole national representative body for property developers, REHDA plays a pivotal role in ensuring that developers’ views are heard by the relevant authorities and government agencies. For example, REHDA lauded the Government’s announcement to allow construction activities to commence work in April 2020.
