EMBRACING EMOTIONAL DESIGN FOR OFFICE TYPOLOGY
Spatial emotion design advocates bringing human attributes to spatial functions. With this, people will be able to work in their best physiological and psychological state. Therefore, seeks to create comfortable working environment for employees, ensuring high productivity while maintaining staff’s physical and mental health.
The arrangement of open space layout provides large areas of black and white contrast, and the smooth lines create a powerful aura. However, the soft lights bring back a romantic atmosphere. The space is highlighted by light and shadow, the space presents a future sense through symbols. It shows an open, lush and new office format with a strong accent.
COMBINATION OF COLOURS AND MATERIALS
When it came to the selection of materials, pureness presents infinity, and simplicity creates richness. Bright green brings cheerfulness, while exposed ceiling and cloud-like chandeliers create a natural and agile visual perception. The combination of dynamic and stillness embodies the concentration of the designer.
To transform the space, the designer changed the previously Chinese-style office into a modern style, which is better suited to brand culture and temperament of the office and younger staff.
With the existing ring-shaped layout with identical walls and core tubes, navigating the spaces may be difficult. The designer rely on colours to ease the navigation and assist the sense of directions. Rooms for different departments and signages are painted in colours that corresponds to the natural elements: wood, fire, water, earth and metal.
GIVING A SENSE OF FREEDOM
The wall of the void area has a poor visual experience from the existing huge sloped beam. To solve this problem, the designer created X-shaped beam structure with a futuristic look from luminous perforated aluminium plates
The people movement are the key points of designing moving lines to shorten the walking distance, such as in conference rooms, negotiation rooms, recreation area, water bar and reception area. It makes the discussion and communication between people, departments and customers more efficient. At the same time, different spaces create different atmospheres and emotions, so as to meet the needs of different moments.
To remove the shackles of traditional office design and give a space infinite vitality is not only a change in form, it is more about accommodating flow of activities. The addition of soft curves as visual element also compliment the space, stimulating users to have an infinite amount of creativity. — Construction+ Online
