The Henderson

On the outside, the project is connected to the elevated pedestrian walkway network; retail and dining outlets; and offices of leading financial and civic institutions in the district, adjacent to Chater Garden and Lambeth Walk Rest Garden in Central and within viewing distance of Hong Kong Park.

On the inside, it aims to embrace the four pillars of sustainability—resilience, health, green and smart technology—together with high-quality hospitality services for the Grade A office tenants and their visitors.

CREATING AN URBAN OASIS
The podium of the building is strategically lifted to create a floating lobby space, minimising the building footprint while extending greenery from surrounding gardens on the ground level. This floor, underneath the elevated pedestrian walkway, has incorporated layers of trees and plants to create a landscape dialogue between the architecture and environment.

MAKING OF THE CROWN
The banquet hall is an event space located at the top floor with 8-metre frameless glass walls and a 600-square metre skylight. There is no mullion, glass fin or internal column, offering an unobstructed view across the city. The gently arched steel beams spanning 16 metres between the core and the front of the hall are only 450 millimetres in depth, which helps minimise the structural size. Loads from chandeliers and equipment for events and performances have also been considered in the engineering design.
