The first-ever CIC Global Construction Sustainability Forum and Exhibition (GCSFE), a three-day hybrid event that featured over 40 speakers alongside 40 exhibitors, concluded on 22 November 2023 with total attendance exceeding 10,000.
Co-organised by the Construction Industry Council (CIC) and the Development Bureau (DEVB), the platform for knowledge exchange explored the themes of sustainability; green buildings; as well as smart and safe construction—through the lens of Government officials, experts, academics and entrepreneurs, among others.
According to Ir Thomas Ho, Chairperson of CIC, Hong Kong’s annual construction volume is expected to reach about HKD300 billion per annum in future, and GCSFE 2023 has helped enhance the quantity, speed, efficiency and quality of works to this end.
