Sun Hung Kai Properties (SHKP) announced on 27 February 2023 that four of its commercial buildings received the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Platinum certification under v4.1 Operations and Maintenance: Existing Buildings.
Out of the four buildings, Sun Hung Kai Centre achieved a score of 82 and has become the longest-standing commercial building at the age of 40, among other Platinum-rated buildings in Hong Kong. Moreover, the International Commerce Centre (ICC) scored 87 points, the highest of all local projects awarded LEED Platinum certification under the same category. One IFC received 84 while Two IFC, the first local building to attain LEED Platinum certification under the same category, scored 83.
According to Executive Director Robert Chan, SHKP is committed to enhancing the environmental performance of their properties. For instance, its commercial project in Kowloon East on 98 How Ming Street, Kwun Tong and the development under construction atop the High-Speed Rail West Kowloon Terminus have received LEED Platinum pre-certification. —Construction+ Online
