Rezoning of Sandy Ridge Site for Innovation and Technology Use to Complete within 2024

A 2-hectare formed site at Sandy Ridge in North District, which was initially set for the construction of a public columbarium, will be utilised for innovation and technology (I&T) purposes. The change in land use has been proposed in the 2023 Policy Address in view of the sufficient supply of public niches to meet future needs.

The technical assessment and rezoning procedures are scheduled to complete within 2024, in line with the Government’s vision of a South-North dual engine (finance-I&T). Professor Sun Dong, the Secretary for Innovation, Technology and Industry highlighted the feasibility of developing data centres at the locale during his visit in December 2023. —Construction+ Online
