The Hong Kong Institute of Architects (HKIA) celebrated its 60th anniversary with the REVEAL 2 Exhibition, which took place from 10 September to 7 October at the ArtisTree, Taikoo Place. The month-long exhibition was aimed at showcasing the close ties between architects and the community, and 90 HKIA members showcased their work through different media.
Themed ‘For the City. For the Community. + − × ÷’, the Reveal 2 exhibition was divided into five zones: addition, subtraction, multiplication, division and capturing (the art room), displaying 61 unique exhibits in different forms, including multimedia installations, photography, sculptures, models, calligraphy, graphics, drawings, handicrafts, etc. Interactive elements were included in most exhibits, which encouraged visitors to contribute their creative ideas and share valuable opinions on the exhibition, city developments and architecture-related topics.
“This exhibition is vital because it offers an interactive platform for ideas exchange between exhibitors and public visitors,” explained Corrin Chan, chairman of the organising committee of REVEAL 2. “Through the processes of + − × ÷, they will demonstrate a range of unconventional works that propose unique insights to new interpretations of the city, alternative forms of living; and creative ideas that value chosen concerns such as justice, equality, participation, sharing and sustainability.”
