Optimising Construction Technologies to Boost Housing Supply

In an effort to keep abreast of innovative construction technologies in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, the Secretary for Housing cum Chairperson of the Hong Kong Housing Authority (HA), Winnie Ho, visited the Guangdong Bright Dream Robotics Company Limited in Foshan and Guangdong Hailong Construction Technology Company Limited in Zhuhai on 19 July 2023.

Together with members of the Building Committee and Tender Committee, the delegation was briefed on the latest research and development (R&D) in building information modelling (BIM); robotics; modular integrated construction (MiC); and other fast-changing trends in the two cities. The optimisation of such applications would help the HA to enhance the speed, efficiency, quantity and quality of housing supply besides improving the working environment.
