This is a redevelopment project by LAWSGROUP that seeks to build a new landmark in the heart of East Kowloon in Hong Kong. An old industrial building sat on the site previously. Bringing together technology, wellness and geometry, the new 29-storey smart commercial tower has been planned to comply with the group’s “1.5% Campaign”, set up to contribute to limiting global temperature rise to no more than 1.5 degrees Celsius while promoting a green lifestyle.
The appearance of the tower that comprises ‘shifting’ floor plates resembles a thread spindle, harking back to the group’s apparel background. The floor plates also create overhangs for sun shading and terraces for greenery.
BRINGING IN SMART TECH
The group has integrated the technologies of 5G, internet of things and data visualisation into the project for automated management. These include smart building management; smart parking system; smart washrooms; as well as full indoor coverage of 5G connectivity and dedicated 5G bandwidth for enhanced speed, reliability and security.
