Located at the southern tip of Kowloon Peninsula as the retail component of the Victoria Dockside, K11 MUSEA comprised 10-storey retail complex with a 10,000 square-metre floor area. It combines high-end experiential retail, art and dining facilities at the heart of Hong Kong Victoria Harbour area.
A VIBRANT VERTICAL NEIGHBOURHOOD
K11 MUSEA accommodates cultural offerings such as performances, a school of jewelry arts and exhibitions held inside the Gold Ball, a glass-clad spherical event space that serves as the centrepiece of the retail atrium. The overall distribution of program within the building act as a kind of neighbourhood with different streets housing varied program. This is done to enliven the traditional mall and elevate it into a vertical neighbourhood.
The facade is accentuated by flowing bands of Portuguese limestone and bronze-coloured metal which are prominently featured on the exterior of the development area. It provides a counterpoint to the verdant green walls while echoing the waves that wash along the Victoria Harbour shorelines. The podium terraces up as after a fashion of manmade hill, with access to nature and outdoor spaces at every level.
The project boasts extensive greenery at over 5,000 square-metre area consists of lawns complemented with indoor and outdoor green walls.
