A multi-purpose hall catering to residents of sub-divided units in Tsuen Wan—which evolved from the government-owned staff quarters dating back to 1981—was a retrofitting project led by Architectural Services Department and Caritas Hong Kong Youth and Community Service, with pro-bono support from WSP in mechanical, electrical and plumbing design.
The contribution of the WSP experts involved was noted in a thanksgiving event held by Caritas in February 2024.
The hall comprises spacious rooms for doing the laundry, cooking, learning and networking. Opened to the public in July 2023, the provision is aimed at enhancing well-being of low-income households having limited living space. —Construction+ Online
