Running on the theme of Unite Green Building Powers, Fight for Carbon Neutrality by 2050, the diverse programmes of the Hong Kong Green Building Week (HKGBW) 2023 shine a spotlight on four main Green Building Powers: Health and Well-being; Resource Efficiency; Environmental Friendliness; and Innovation Elements.
One of the programmes is the video competition (from now till 24 July 2023) that asks participants to explore four architectural highlights, namely ArtLane; Che Kung Temple Sports Centre; K11 MUSEA; and Metroplaza, and capture sustainable features and significance of the designated green buildings.

For example, One ArtLane incorporates floor-to-ceiling glass walls with intersecting white frames to introduce ample natural light into the space while Two ArtLane features a green area of over 1,400 square feet on its second floor to provide an innovative camping space.

To aid participants, HKGBW 2023 will host free video production workshops on filming and editing techniques, in addition to in-depth tours in the CIC-Zero Carbon Park on 24 June 2023.
Different from the previous edition, this year’s competition consists of two categories: KOL Group and Thematic Group, both allowing individual and team entries of up to four people. The newly introduced KOL Group involves creation through Instagram Reels while the Thematic Group is further divided into the Parent-Child Group and Open Group. Participants are required to produce their own videos that will enhance the general public’s understanding of the essence of green buildings.
Awards to be presented in each category include Champion; First Runner-up; Second Runner-up; and The Most Popular Video Award, which will be determined through public voting on the official website. For more details, please visit the HKGBC Facebook Page and event website.
The annual HKGBW campaign is co-organised by the Construction Industry Council (CIC) and the Hong Kong Green Building Council (HKGBC). —Construction+ Online
