Located in the new financial district of Chengdu, Sichuan province, the Hilton Chengdu is wedged between the Tianfu Software Park and Century City International Exhibition Centre, all connected by an outdoor landscaped roof terrace.
The contemporary interiors integrate prismatic elements with the landmark architecture. The lobby lounge takes advantage of the three-storey-high space, incorporating a sculptural grand staircase that can be seen from any angle of the ground floor. In the reception space, the ceiling is connected to the wall with layers of geometric hexagon patterns, which direct guests from the lobby lounge to the check-in area.
The surrounding space of the lounge and bar area combines a delicate language of marble floors delimited by curvilinear parapet walls on fine timber.
Inspired by the galaxy, the ceiling’s handmade bubble glass light fixtures appear as stars in the night sky, complementing the geometric patterns in the hand-tufted inset carpet.
The Hilton Chengdu is also the first hotel with a drive-in ballroom and one of the highest swimming pools in Chengdu city. The 395 rooms and suites emulate Sichuan design elements with modern features, such as floor-to-ceiling windows that frame breath-taking views of the city. — Construction+ Online
