A knowledge exchange platform hosted by the Hong Kong Alliance of Built Asset & Environment Information Management Associations (HKABAEIMA) together with the buildingSMART (Hong Kong, China Chapter), it will comprise an opening plenary, a series of dialogues and concurrent masterclasses—all to be held at Crowne Plaza Hong Kong Kowloon East over two days from 17 June 2024.
The discussion topics will cover:
- implementation examples of openBIM—a collaborative process that is vendor-neutral and facilitates interoperability—and open data standards;
- Industry Foundation Classes (IFC), a schema specification developed by the buildingSMART for openBIM;
- the essential roles of governments in promoting digitalisation for smart cities and sustainability; and
- the applications of latest technologies—such as artificial intelligence (AI), Internet of Things (IoT) and big data analytics—in tackling climate change and resource scarcity.
The lineup of speakers features over 30 local and international experts, representing the global community of buildingSMART, government departments and related organisations. The keynote addresses are set to be delivered by Bernadette Linn, the Secretary for Development and Victor Tai, the Under Secretary for Housing respectively.
The summit will be concluded by a gala dinner to honour the winners of the Hong Kong openBIM/openGIS Awards 2024. Michael Wong, the Deputy Financial Secretary is expected to grace the evening as the guest of honour.
