The Construction Innovation Expo 2019 (CIExpo) was successfully concluded on 20 December 2019. Jointly co-organised by Construction Industry Council (CIC) and the Development Bureau (DEVB) and supported by Centre of Science and Technology Industrial Development (CSTID), Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development (MOHURD) of the People’s Republic of China, the four- day exhibition ran from 17 to 20 December and attracted over 23,800 visitors and 228 exhibitors from 15 countries and regions to participate.
Executive Director of the CIC, Ir Albert Cheng indicated that the CIExpo has triumphantly showcased advanced construction technologies and provided a knowledge sharing and business matching platform for the Innovation and technology is a world trend driving the transformation of the construction industry.
“Through this Expo, I hope the entire industry would embrace a new era of innovation and new technology,” he said.
The CIExpo features four key themes, namely Offsite Construction, Robotics and Automation, Digital Solutions, and Advanced Technologies and Materials. About 40 local and overseas experts, academics, government officials and entrepreneurs from engineering backgrounds shared their extensive experience and knowledge at four international conferences about “Building Information Modelling (BIM)”, “Modular Integrated Construction (MiC)”, “Design for Manufacture and Assembly (DfMA), Robotics and Automation” and “Building Asia Forum”.
Ten technical tours were arranged to demonstrate local innovative buildings and facilitates including MiC Display Centre, CIC – Zero Carbon Park, CIC BIM Space, Happy Valley Underground Stormwater Storage Tank, Hong Kong Drainage Tunnel Project, revitalisation projects at Shanghai Street and Lee Tung Street as well as T‧Park (a sludge treatment facility), etc. — Construction+ Online
