The launch of the Home Electrical Safety Programme aims to enhance electrical safety in 2,000 underprivileged households—including those of the elderly, ethnic minorities, low-income families and people with disabilities—through the provision of free inspections and repairs, in addition to knowledge sharing, by qualified electricians.
Preceded by the Home Electrical Safety for Elderly People Programme by CLP Power Hong Kong Limited in 2023, the initiative features a wider outreach. To further the cause, a total of HKD9.5 million has been allocated through the utility company’s Community Energy Saving Fund alongside a partnership with Home Affairs Department, District Offices, District Services and Community Care Teams. —Construction+ Online
