The second edition of Green Jobs Fair—a one-day event jointly organised by the Business Environment Council Limited (BEC) and Network of Environmental Student Societies (NESS)—brought together students, government officials and representatives from participating companies as well as academic institutions on 24 January 2024.
Besides connecting young talents with prospective employers, the platform seeks to bridge the knowledge and skills gap in line with the requirements of sustainability-related jobs, through a host of programmes:
- Panel discussions;
- Knowledge-sharing workshops;
- Exhibition booths;
- Networking sessions.
This year’s line-up was anchored by a multi-stakeholder dialogue, featuring notable speakers, as follows:
- Fong Kin-wa, Deputy Director of Environmental Protection Department;
- Professor Veronique Lafon-Vinais, Associate Professor of Business Education of The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology;
- Chin Chin Lam, Founder of the Community Climate Resilience Concern Group and Town Planner of Masterplan Limited;
- Ir. C.F. Leung, Director of Operations of BEC.
